What makes the Club tick?

1) The Players who turn up week in and week out to training and give their all in matches.

2) The Coaches and their Staff who voluntarily give up their free time to offer the opportunity for their respective groups to play this great game to the best of their ability and to the highest appropriate level.

3) The Officials (Referees and Table Officers) who, in the main, keep order despite what many might think!!

4) The Silent majority, the Club Committee who work tirelessly behind the scenes to see that the Club is run on professional basis bearing in mind all the rules, regulations and legislation involved in running such a club. The fact that ‘The Club’ has been recognised by Sport England and awarded the highly prestigious

‘Clubmark Award’ is testament to this.

5) Finally, last but not least, ‘The Parents’ without whom none of this would be achievable as they provide the vital taxi service to and from training/matches, finance and in the case of the U/16 boys a sub-committee to help raise those much needed extra funds to keep basketball affordable.

A huge THANK YOU goes out to one and all who have contributed.

A special mention has to be made of FOUR organisations from which the Club has benefited financially.

1) England Basketball and in particular The RAF who awarded the club a grant of £750.00 in recognition of the Junior Development that is taking place for both boys and girls and the National League programme.

2) Sport England and the Active Sports Initiative who have awarded a similar amount this year.

3) Ipswich Borough Council who have given us reduced facility hire fees in recognition of our Clubmark Award.

4) Westbourne High School who have almost single-handedly seen the birth of Boys NATIONAL LEAGUE BASKETBALL by allowing us access to their sports facilities.
